Sizing Information
This model runs true to Sidi’s size conversion chart and fits about like any other Sidi street boot style. These shoes have laces so getting a good fit is easy. Visit our Sidi Sizing Information page for complete size conversion info (ladies can use the chart at the bottom of the page).
The width of these boots feel a bit wider in the front foot area than we’ve seen with Sidi. We normally advise that Sidi boots are a bit more narrow than most of our brands like TCX and Alpinestars, but these boots feel much like the other two brands with a width of D or E.
Our Two Cents
We’ve seen LOTS of more “urban” riding boot styles from almost every manufacturer. This year Sidi introduces a couple including this new Arcadia Tex boot.
I’ve got the brown boot here on my desk for review. The combination of leather and textile has been offered on numerous “traditional” motorcycle boot styles, but this is the first I’ve seen in a more urban style. The combination of leather, suede and textile gives the boots an interesting “earthy” look and the lighter materials make the overall weight of the boot lighter. I like the overall looks of the boot… it reminds me of some Timberland boots I have.
I also like the side zipper. Laces are great because they allow you to fine tune the fit, but a side zip is SO HANDY, and a boot style with both is the best! I’ve got some TCX boots for my personal use that have the same setup and I really like the convenience.
These boots have significant stiffeners in the toe and heel areas and there is a large shifter pad on top of the toe leather to help protect the boot against wear and tear in that area. The sole definitely has a shank up to the forefoot so there is good stiffness and you’ll be able to stand on your pegs without the boot folding up on you. A couple other little nice things… the boots have a rear pull tab which is reflective and the neck of the boot is well padded so break-in should be easy.
Overall, I really like this new Sidi and the pricing looks “about right” as compared to our other premium branded boots of this type. :: Paul, 12-19-16
