Sizing Information

These pants are designed as an overpant and they measure out as you would expect, just about 2 inches over the “normal” corresponding waist size. We put together this chart based on our measurements to help you select the size you need. Most riders should select the size they normally wear in pants but if you aren’t sure measure your waist while wearing whatever pants or base layers you plan to wear under these pants and choose the corresponding size.

Small 34 32
Medium 36 32
Large 38 32
XL 40 33

Our Two Cents

The Icon Stormhawk pants are a new waterproof pant for fall 2021.

These pants are made from a 4-way stretch material so you have a lot of freedom of movement. The armor is D3O LP1 so it is also flexible and breathable. The knee armor pocket has 3 different height inner pockets so you can move the armor up or down to get it to line up with your knee. Suspenders are included but removable and there are also belt loops so you can go with what fits your style and keep the pants in place at the waist. There are two back pockets to hold your wallet etc, two pass through zippers near the waist so you can get into your pants that you have on under these, and tow large cargo pockets on the thighs.

Just above the cargo pockets, there is a large zippered vent on either side so you can get some good airflow directly through the garment. There are also hook and loop adjusters at the cuff to get a snug fit over your boots to keep the water out.

These pants are designed as an overpant: they are just slightly oversized from what we would expect and they have the pass through openings near the waist to reach the hand pockets on your normal pants, and then there are full inseam length zippers on both legs to make them easy to get in and out of while wearing other clothes.

All of the zippers on these pants are YKK® Aquagard™ zippers so they should maintain a watertight seal, but I personally would like to see more use of storm flaps over the zippers just to be sure. Overall these pants should work great as either overpants or standalone pants to keep you dry in wet weather. With the venting and the ability to layer underneath they should perform well in just about any temperature. :: Mike, 12-23-21
