Sizing Information

We measured a selection of these pants and put together the chart below to help you choose a size. Measure your waist where your jeans usually ride. Choose a size so that your waist measurement falls within the range listed in the chart. The large end of the range on the waist is how they fit with the side adjusters fully open, and then you can snug down the waist band by about 2”. The inseams listed are the actual measured inseam.

The overall cut of this pant is trim. Those who like a loose fit or if you have muscular legs, then this might not be the best fit. But if you are average to trim and like a trim fit, then this one stands out.

Pant Size Waist Range Inseam
44 27.5-29.5 31
46 29.5-31.5 31.5
48 31-33 32

Our Two Cents

Carve Master 2 Gore-Tex pants are a sharp design for touring and street riding. A full Gore-Tex liner for waterproofing is part of the design. Armor is included for the knee and hip and a removable thermal liner is included too.

The shell material in this pant is a bit different than your average pant. Its a softer weave and has a bit of stretch to it. Its plenty sturdy feeling for a motorcycle pant though. The fit is trim and more form fitting than most textile pants. Very European!

Behind that main outer shell is a full Gore-Tex liner from top to bottom which means this pant will be superb at resisting water. But Gore-Tex is the best at allowing moisture to escape the pant so you should be comfortable wearing them (not clammy). I’d recommend this pant for cold weather up to mild weather, but certainly not hot weather. The Gore-Tex liner isn’t removable and although there are a couple zip vents on the thigh, the air entering those vents only passes around the Gore-Tex liner and not through to your skin. But when it gets cold, these pants will shine. You have the outer shell, then the Gore Tex liner and then a full quilted thermal liner is included also. You can remove that thermal liner in milder weather, but in cold weather, you’ll love it.

The ends of the pant legs here can adjusted to fit over heavier boots or made more narrow for use with riding shoes. There are Velcro strips at the bottom to adjust the opening size. And then there are zips to widen the pant ends to help with getting them on or off. Don’t mistake this design for an overpant… its just too trim for that. Wear over your base gear or underwear.

Knee armor is included. The knee armor has a nice shape and is a firm plastic over foam which is really comfortable to wear. The armor extends a long way down the shin. If the height of knee armor isn’t perfect, check inside the knee pocket (accessible with a zipper just above each knee). Inside that pocket are Velcro tabs to engage the armor so you can position it up or down to suit. Thin, flexible hip armor is included also.

On the inside of the knees, are a couple panels of very heavy duty textile material. I’m not sure why that is locate inside the knees though… perhaps to keep your bike parts from snagging up the pant material? But if you have a pristine paint job you are fussy about, you might not like that feature.

A full around zipper is included to connect to Dainese jacket with the mating zipper. Most notably, the matching Carve Master 2 jacket (take the link below). With the zipper connected, you have a competent two piece riding suit. :: Paul, 11-05-18

Dainese says: The perfect partner for the Carve Master 2 jacket, complementing and completing its safety functions, all-season temperature regulation and streamlined, sports touring looks.
