We measured a sampling of these jeans of different waist sizes and lengths and find they are much like other jeans you’d buy these days. They are just a bit “vanity” sized in the waist and pretty true in the length. Across the size run, the actual measured waist was about 2” larger than the stated waist size (typical vanity sizing). So my primary advice would be to buy the waist size you normally wear in jeans; you’ll likely find a fit.
If you aren’t sure whether your jeans are vanity sized like I’m describing, then either measure your waist where your normal jeans ride or measure your favorite pair of jeans to verify. You’ll probably find that you measure out a bit bigger than your normal jeans size and also the waist of your favorite jeans measures out an inch or two bigger than their stated size. If so, you will be on track following my advice. The denim used in these pants has a good deal of stretch to them, so if you are sometimes between sizes, I’d advise you to buy the smaller.
The inseam lengths measured out about right as compared to the stated size. These are slim fit jean and a standard feature here is that REVIT adds a strip of reflective piping on the inside seam of the jeans with the idea that you’ll roll up the ends and the reflective strip will show. If you like the look of rolling up the ends of the jeans, then buy one size longer than you normally would.
Our Two Cents
REVIT’s new Moto jeans offer moto specific styling in a solid riding jean with protective materials and armor in the knee as standard. Hip armor is optional.
Most of REVIT jeans are a slim cut through the legs with a reasonably roomy seat and thigh, and these Moto pants are cut from that same mold. The overall fit is similar to the Austin and Seattle. The styling is more “moto” than those other styles because of the black wash and also the accordion stretch material above the knee. Also, the knee has one seam that makes it sort of “rounded” to the shape of your leg when sitting. The accordion stretch material is not just a styling thing… it is functional too because when you sit on the bike with your leg bent, and with armor installed in the knee, that stretch area makes the jeans fit over your knee more comfortably.
The ends of the legs are tapered like a slim fit jean. They work tucked into a boot or they’ll work with lace ups or riding shoes, but with the trim size at the end of the leg, they might not go over a bulky boot top. Just to give you an idea, the size 34 waist jean measures 6 1/2” across when laid flat. You can compare that figure to measurements from some jeans you have to judge how well they’d work over your boots.
The fabric used in these pants is cotton with infused Cordura and Elastane. The Cordura adds abrasion resistance so they’ll hold together longer than plain cotton, and the Elastane adds some stretch to the fabric. In addition to the Cordura in the denim, these pants have an extra fabric layer in the seat and knees. That extra layer is an abrasion resistant liner and finally, there is a comfort layer of thin cotton over the liner material to keep them comfortable against your skin.
These jeans include armor in the knees already. It is a VERY flexible type armor and will fit your knee well without alignment being an issue. Similar armor is available for the hips (take the link below to order). I really like REVIT’s armor for jeans. The thickness and flex is ideal for jeans.
I’d definitely recommend this jean or any of the REVIT jeans for that matter. They have the protection and style and they are well built and look good. :: Paul, 04-11-19
REVIT says: The Moto jeans take their fitting cues from the shape of leather motorcycle pants all while being spot-on in terms of fashion trends. Strategically positioned stretch lips allow for full freedom of movement on the bike, as well as comfort, and add to the Moto’s style off the bike. Safety-wise, the Moto is up to spec with our other jeans, meaning Cordura® denim is held together by triple needle stitching to create an extremely strong outer shell. SEESMART™ CE-level 1 knee protectors come standard with the option to upgrade protection by installing the SEESMART™ hip protectors.
