Sizing Information

We measured a sampling of these jeans of different waist sizes and lengths and find they are much like other jeans you’d buy these days. They are just a bit “vanity” sized in the waist and pretty true in the length. Across the size run, the actual measured waist was just a bit larger than the stated waist size (about 1” in the smaller sizes and about 2” in the bigger sizes which are typical vanity sizing). And of course, these are denim and may shrink just a tad too. The jeans have pockets in the hips for the addition of the SeeSmart hip protectors (see link below). The hip armor is quite thin and flexible so I don’t think they’ll make a difference in the size choice of jeans if you choose to wear them. So my overall advice would be to buy the waist size you normally wear in jeans; you’ll likely find a fit. If you aren’t sure whether your jeans are vanity sized like I’m describing, then either measure your waist where your normal jeans ride or measure your favorite pair of jeans to verify. You’ll probably find that you measure out a bit bigger than your normal jeans size and also the waist of your favorite jeans measures out an inch or two bigger than their stated size. If so, you will be on track following my advice.

The inseam lengths measured out about right as compared to the stated size. You may want to choose a longer inseam than your ordinary jeans for a couple of reasons. First, jeans ride up your legs when you sit on a motorcycle so to maintain a good length, you can choose one size longer. Another reason to buy longer with REVIT jeans is the reflective strip they put on the outside seam at the bottom of the legs. That reflective material will only show when the ends are rolled. So with those considerations in mind I’d recommend you buy one size longer than you normally wear. If between sizes, choose the longer.

Our Two Cents

REVIT is offering two new jeans styles for the spring of 2021 which both share their “skinny fit” cut. The Piston SK is offered in two shades of blue and also grey, and then there is the Jackson SK which is dark black. Both styles are very similar in fit and design, so I’ll tell you about both/together. Take the link below to the other style.

Many REVIT jean styles have a slim cut, but these two new styles are just a touch more “skinny” throughout. In my opinion, the difference isn’t highly noticeable. I would have characterized the fit as somewhere between slim and skinny rather than just skinny. But anyway, don’t let the “skinny” label scare you away… I think they are reasonably roomy through the seat and thigh. To give you a point of comparison to jeans you already own, the ends of these pant legs measure about 6” to 6 1/2” when laid flat. Being slim/skinny cut, they’ll work tucked into a boot or they’ll work with lace ups or riding shoes, but they probably won’t work over boots.

The fabric used in these pants is cotton with infused Cordura synthetics along with just a touch of stretch material. The Cordura adds abrasion resistance so they’ll hold together longer than plain cotton, and the stretch material adds some “give” to the fabric for comfort. The jeans are lined from the waist to the knee (on the front side only with a comfort layer of thin cotton to keep them comfortable against your skin and to hold the knee armor in position.

Speaking of armor, these jeans include armor in the knees already. It is a VERY flexible type of armor and will fit your knee well without alignment being an issue. Similar armor is available for the hips (take the link below to order). I really like REVIT’s armor for jeans. The thickness and flex is ideal for jeans.

You’ll note the price of these jeans is a bit lower than other available styles. The main difference is that these jeans offer the cotton blend material for the purpose of abrasion resistance where other, more expensive jeans in the lineup offer an additional inner liner to increase the protection. :: Paul, 03-19-21
