Moose Racing ADV1 Pant

These pants are sized consistently a few inches larger than the stated size when the waist adjusters are fully open. When cinched down, the stated size matches the measured size. Most people will be able to order the size they wear in men’s jeans and get a good fit since most jeans these days measure out a bit bigger than the stated size (called vanity sizing).

Below is a chart that shows the waist and inseam for the pants. If you want to measure your waist you can double check your size selection to make sure your measured sizes falls within the waist range.

The ADV1 pants by Moose are the mate for the ADV1 jacket also by Moose. These are a heavy duty overpant built for a variety of riders from off-road, to dual sport to street. The pants have features that are suitable for off-road which requires VERY rugged construction. They are made of very heavy duty nylon material with double layers in key areas, like the seat and lower legs. And even the inner leg area is covered in washable leather for added thickness and durability.

The pants are made waterproof with bonded Sympatex material (competitor to Gore Tex). The bonded waterproof system will keep you dry and will allow moist air and sweat from your body to escape. And these pants are designed with a full length side zippers down the outside of each leg. You can use these as overpants and step into/out of them without having to change clothes. They’ll be great for adventure riding, but with the full side zippers they’ll also be great for commuting and touring.

The pants come equipped with D3O armor for knees and hips so there is nothing else to buy. Both knees and hips are level 2. You’ll really like the D3O armor. It is soft and very flexible and comfortable to use. The armor height is not adjustable in the pant, which is an unfortunate miss for Moose, but the nature of the armor, being very soft and flexible will make it more likely you’ll be OK with the height in the fixed position.

A lot of people who’d buy these pants will be wearing heavy duty boots, and the bottoms of the legs of these pants are set up to go over even the thickest, heaviest boot. But they also have strips of Velcro so you can decrease the pant leg size for less substantial footwear too. The ends of the pants have concealed gators that go around your boot to seal out water too.

These pants come with suspenders so you can use those along with any jacket. If you use the pants with a Moose jacket with the 3/4 zip connection you can zip the two together and forego the use of the suspenders. But allow me to encourage you to try suspenders anyway. They can be a great thing for motorcycle pants and especially heavy duty/heavy pants like these. When you spend a good deal of time sitting, you can wear your waistband a bit looser, but your pants will still stay up when you get off the bike!
