Sizing Information

Below is the Tour Master chart provided for this product. All measurements are in inches and consider these to be “max” measurements as the jackets can be adjusted down to customize the fit.

I checked a size Large jacket with a tape and found the measurements match the chart almost perfectly. The chest measure 40” comfortably, the waist is about 34” max and the hips flare to about 40”. The adjustment straps on either side of the waist can effectively tailor the fit of the jacket through the mid-section for you. The arm adjuster straps will adjust well also.

Alpha Size Chest Waist Sleeve Length Hip
XS 32-34 28 24 35
Small 34-36 30 24.5 37
Medium 36-38 32 25 39

Our Two Cents

The new Intake jacket by Tourmaster is a short waist, more sporty textile jacket make for everyday use. It offers a removable waterproof liner and a thermal liner as well. The jacket offers venting and CE armor in the shoulders and elbows. An option back protector is available. Both men’s and women’s sizes are offered, so take the link below to view the other gender sizes/colors.

As with many new Tour Master jackets for 2021, the version number of the model has been reset so the name of this newest version is simply “Intake Jacket”. This jacket is now offered with two removable liners… a waterproof liner and a vest-type thermal liner. You can mix and match those in the jacket depending upon the weather conditions. For warmer weather, this jacket offers a couple of vents on the bicep and on the sides of the torso. The airflow will be modest though so count on this jacket for temp ranges from cold to warm (but not hot), and of course, wet weather too. So I’d say you can find comfort in at least three of the year’s seasons (depending on where you live of course).

For storage, you get a “standard” number of pockets. In front, you get two zippered handwarmer pockets, and in back is a fanny pocket. Inside, you’ll find a couple of patch pockets. Adjusters are included for a custom fit on the sides of the waist and on the arms too.

Tour Master is featuring SafeTech brand armor in their 2020 and later products. The jacket includes shoulder and elbow armor inserts that are CE level 2 rated. The material is a more flexible and “squishy” rubberized material, which I think is an improvement in comfort over past designs using less flexible black solid rubber. The jacket has a fabric pocket for a back protector. The jacket comes standard with a simple thin foam back pad (mostly a place holder). Optionally you can buy a CE rated back protector by SafeTech for about twenty bucks (something I’d recommend).

You can mate this jacket to Tour Master pants with the short rear zipper to make a complete touring or commuting outfit. For the money and the feature list, the Intake jacket makes a very good purchase for everyday riding. :: Paul, 01-25-21
