Sizing Information

We used a size 42 on our Fit Check Mannequin Shirley who is a standard size Large, Dress size 12. The jacket measured out correctly at 38” max chest. The actual measured waist of the jacket is considerably larger than REVIT’s standard size chart would indicate. For example on the size 42 we used for the photo shoot on Shirley, I measure the max waist at about 36”. A style like this is easily adjusted through the waist with the side buckles. Shirley has a waist of about 32” and it looks just fine on her. Max waist sizes are about 2” less than the max chest listed for each size rather than the much smaller size listed in the chart. .

Our Two Cents

The Arc Air jacket by REVIT for women is new for 2019. Its a great jacket with styling that is taken up a notch as compared to many REVIT styles. Its a sport cut jacket that includes armor. The Arc Air jacket is similar in function and price to the Airwave 2 jacket for women but offers sportier styling and colors.

The Arc Air is fitted with REVIT’s SEESMART™ CE-level 1 armor units in the shoulders and elbows. I think the SeeSmart design works well in a lighter weight jacket like this. It molds well to your body and is relatively thin and since it has a honeycomb construction, it works well in a summer jacket like this. Have a look at our photo gallery to see what it looks like. The jacket comes with a pocket for the addition of a back protector. You can add a SeeSoft unit to the jacket. Just read the sizing info below and take the link at the bottom of this page to buy.

A great deal of the surface area of this jacket is flow-through mesh material. The jacket isn’t waterproof and doesn’t have a thermal liner, so its full blast air conditioning when you go down the road, so pick this jacket for 70F and up riding. For some, that means this jacket will work for 2 or 3 season and for others in milder climates probably just the summer months. But when it really gets hot out you’ll love having a jacket like this. I’ve often said that a full mesh jacket like this can actually be cooler than a tee shirt. Reason being, the jacket keeps the sun off and cuts down on windburn. The Arc Air has zippers for the addition of REVIT’s Challenger cooling vest. Its a vest you can soak with water and then enjoy the cooling from the water’s evaporation as you ride. Take the link below to have a look at the vest and its features. It will work great in VERY hot and dry climates like CA, AZ for NV (or other similarly hot and dry conditions).

REVIT includes two ways to connect the back of the jacket to your pants. There are two simple snap-close loops you can use to attach the tail to your belt, and then there is also a short rear zipper which can zip to compatible REVIT riding pants. Alternately, you could buy one of REVIT’s Safeway belts which can be used to more securely attach the jacket to any pair of pants you have that use a belt (see below).

Have a look at the large pictures of the different colors in this jacket. It really gives a sport look, but it’s reasonably priced. The standard mesh material along with the “3D” mesh looks sharp (the 3D material is the stuff on the front upper chest and the upper back). Also, note the graphic design on the lower textile panels. :: Paul, 02-18-19

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For women’s size 36 choose size 3; for 38 to 44, choose size 4 and for 46 and larger choose size 5. Please use the link at the bottom of this page to buy.

REVIT says: The Arc Air Ladies jacket was specifically developed with summer riding in mind and to offer the perfect female fit. Its looks were inspired from the highest level of racing yet are perfect for the streets. To make sure you stay cool on those warm days, the outer shell is constructed of an abrasion-resistant mix of polyester 600D and PWR|mesh, ensuring optimal airflow to cool down the upper body. Furthermore, the Arc Air Ladies comes with the incorporated SEESMART™ CE-level 1 protectors at the shoulders and elbows.
