We measured a couple jacket in this style and compared them to Roland Sands size chart below. Our product photos were done with a size Large jacket on Shirley, our Large size mannequin. Its snug but works.
Shirley is a standard size 12 with a 38 bust and 32 waist, which corresponds to the measurements in their chart, but the dress size in their chart is understated at size 8 for a Large. I’d believe the measurements before I’d believe the dress size.
Use the chart below to choose a size based upon your chest/waist measurements.
Our Two Cents
The Mia jacket is a great looking “rocker” style jacket for women. It’s a full leather jacket that is fitted with a removable hoody underneath. The hoody is made of a very nice all-purpose fabric which has a feel of nylon combined with neoprene. Its nicely styled and heavy duty and lined with nylon mesh. It has pockets inside and out too. Its fitted close to the body so it will fit under the leather jacket, but it is styled so you can use it off the bike too. That’s a handy feature for motorcycling because you get dual use out of it. And if you are traveling, it can cut down on the clothes you need to pack. The leather used in the Mia is definitely “premium” cowhide. It has a beautiful finish and is very soft.
The Mia jacket is equipped with shoulder and elbow armor. The armor is made by Knox which is a well-known maker of impact protectors of all kinds. There is also a pocket for adding a matching Knox back protector. If you want the back protection, take the link below to add it to your order. The jacket comes with a thin foam back pad in the pocket as standard. It’s more or less a “placeholder”. It’s not a rated back protector, so opt for the Knox unit if you want to beef it up.
Check out the large elasticated leather panels both behind the shoulders and above the elbows. Those really help with your freedom of movement reaching forward on the bike. They’ll give you enough room across your shoulders but allow for a trim attractive fit. I also like the zippers built into the hip area. Those expand the size in the hip area which can help you get a good fit and help prevent the jacket from riding up when you sit on the bike.
The nearest equivalent jackets in the men’s line are the Clash Signature RS which has the same offset front zipper, and also the new men’s Jagger that has a similar hoody design. This is a high-quality sharp design with a lot of comfort features and well-engineered protection. :: Paul, 11-29-18
Roland Sands says: Cafe style, her way, with multi-seasonal function. Meet MIA. She’s got attitude, but she’s ready for whatever you throw at her. Classic Café Racer styling on the outside, with a removable and separately wearable waterproof hoody on the inside. The MIA is a 3-in-1 multi-season jacket with all of the right features. A clean asymmetric front zipper is featured on both the jacket and the hoody, and simple yet refined quilt stitch details on the jacket give it just the right amount of styling. Flex ribbing on the back sides and elbows help with articulation and fit. Run it with the hoody for those colder/damp days and without for mild to warm conditions. The MIA also comes equipped with premium KNOX™ Microlock™ molded armor for superior impact protection.
