This Speed and Strength jacket is an “easy fit” and is generously sized. My primary advice would be to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you are between sizes I’d advise you to go down. I notice the sleeve length on these jacket is generous so average to tall riders should find a good fit.
If you want to double check your sizing by measuring your chest, you can use the chart below to choose a size. The Max Chest sizes listed by Speed and Strength are a bit bigger than many manufacturer’s conversion charts, and that confirms our suggestion that people who are between sizes should choose the smaller.
If you have a bit of a belly, you might want to put a tape around it and make sure the size you are choosing will work for the belly as well. The max belly sizes for any jacket size will be about 2” smaller than the max chest listed. For example, the size XL will handle up to a max 48” chest and a max 46” belly.
Our Two Cents
The Speed and Strength roughneck jacket offers a shell that is part waxed cotton and part canvas. It comes with a removable sleeveless hoody for extra insulation and includes a full set of armor.
The overall looks of this jacket is very casual, and the fit is as well. It is a comfortable to wear style. This jacket comes with CE armor inserts in the shoulders and elbows and a back protector also. The armor isn’t “name brand” but it is decent stuff and the back pad feels more substantial than most “stock” back protectors, so there is nothing else to add.
Being a canvas jacket, you’ll get a fair amount of natural flow of air through the jacket. I’d say it will comfortable from colder weather to warmer weather. It probably won’t be good for the hottest days of summer nor the coldest in winter. The jacket comes with a removable hoody which will add a layer in the torso area. The hoody is sleeveless.
I like the looks of the Brown/Black jacket. The brown fabric looks kind of “vintage” and adds some style. :: Paul, 04-02-18
