Sizing Information

We put a size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and they look good. I will say that the fit is “trim” overall and the jackets aren’t a “roomy” fit like you find in a lot of mesh style jackets, so please pay attention to the size chart and max belly estimates we offer in the chart below. If you are between sizes, I’d advise choosing the larger.

This is a bit longer style jacket and there is ample adjustments for the waist/belly area, so as long as you choose an appropriate size for your chest, you should be OK in the belly. But just in case, I added an estimated “max belly” measurement too, so you can make sure the size will accommodate your belly as well as your chest.

Size Max Chest Max Belly Sleeve Length
(from center of collar in back)
Small 36-38 36 32
Medium 38-42 38 33
Large 42-44 40 34
XL 44-46 42 35
XXL 46-48 44 36
XXXL 48-50 46 37

Our Two Cents

Scorpion’s Yukon jacket is similar in design to other adventure/off-road style jackets. Its a “3/4” body style (longer) and is constructed from a waterproof shell (without removable liners). It has ample storage on the outside and inside, and comes with a full armor package… even chest and back as standard.

I’ve got to be straight with you here… the SAS TEC brand armor in this jacket is EXTREMELY stiff. We sell a lot of similar jackets with CE II rated D3O brand armor which can feel a little bulky, but is generally very usable and comfortable. And I’ve always known the rubber compound of SASTEC armor was more dense and less flexible than D3O, but the SAS TEC armor in this jacket is so stiff I can’t even touch my head with the jacket on and I don’t think I could get a helmet on if I put the jacket on first. Its a non-starter for me.

If there were other exclusive/unique features here, I would go into detail for you, but with the armor issue and the upper end price, I’m just going to suggest you have a look at a Klim jacket instead. :: Paul, 01-25-19 (more about less-than-favorable reviews)

Scorpion says: River Crossings. Knee-deep mud. Eleven days of solid rain. The Yukon is designed for adventure. Developed for anything Mother Nature can throw at you, the waterproof/breathable Exo-Dry™ laminated membrane has been carefully seam sealed to make this garment waterproof and windproof on the outside…no additional interior liner needed. Made to handle droves of abuse, the exterior of the jacket is a rugged combination of 500-denier nylon in the main body and heavy-duty 1680-denier nylon on the forearms, elbows, and shoulders. Whatever you throw at it, the Yukon shrugs off harsh conditions and begs for more… But when the weather turns nice and the sun starts beating down, the Yukon transforms into an air-pumping, heatevacuating, climate-controlling beast. Massive vents on the forearms, biceps, lats, upper back, and kidneys can be cranked open for extreme ventilation. Nine external pockets and four internal mesh pockets take care of your storage needs. And what would an adventure be without the need for impact protection? Premium SAS-TEC® viscoelastic armor in the shoulders, elbows, back and chest provide comfortable protection exactly where you want it. This is maximum protection and versatility, the Yukon sets a new bar for what adventurous motorcyclists should expect from their gear.
