Sizing Information

This jacket is a standard cut street leather jacket and it fits a bit more relaxed than other Roland Sands styles. We measured a selection of sizes and also tried these on our fit test mannequins. Huey is wearing a medium and Dewey is in the XL. These are the sizes they normally wear. The fit looks good.

I’d advise to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, just make sure that the jacket you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly.

Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 38 36
Medium 40 38
Large 43 41
XL 46 44
XXL 48 46
XXXL 51 49

Our Two Cents

When I tried on the Trent jacket, I immediately liked how it looked and felt! This is a casual, almost hoody style made of a fabric that will actually hold up in case of a fall.

The first thing I liked about this jacket is the casual fit and the fact that the lining is slick and would slide on easly over shirt sleeves. I think somebody that commutes and/or someone headed to a social event will love this jacket. Just wearing it, it looks totally non-bikerish and could be a fashionable casual street jacket in disguise. The shell color is a dark navy.

The fabric used in this jacket is of a medium weight and has a semi-slick feel to it. And it is very supple (not “crunchy”) like a full Cordura fabric which is (more common on protective motorcycle jackets). But being a blend of Cordura and Kevlar, I have no doubt it would be tough in case of a fall, so this jacket will be far more protective than a more common cotton shell material found in other casual/hoody styles. The jacket comes with a set of removable armor for the shoulders and elbows. It also has a simple thin foam back protector. Most people will probably be OK with non-CE rated back pad, but if you want to get something more substantial, you can swap it for the CE rated Forcefield unit (see the link at the bottom of this page).

The jacket comes with a sturdy cotton hood which zips in around the collar, so if you decide not to use it, you can remove it. Being removable is a handy thing for riding in different seasons. This jacket will be best used in cooler to warmer weather. It could even be used in cold weather if you wear some warm under-gear. It has a couple small zip vents on the shoulders for air flow in and then has a larger rear zip vent in back so you’ll be able to some some air going for summer use, but I don’t think it will be ideal for the summer’s hottest temps. :: Paul, 03-26-18
