Sizing Information

This jacket is a standard cut street leather jacket and it fits a bit more relaxed than other Roland Sands styles. We measured a selection of sizes and also tried these on our fit test mannequins. Huey is wearing a medium and Dewey is in the XL. These are the sizes they normally wear. The fit looks good.

I’d advise to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, just make sure that the jacket you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly.

Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 38 36
Medium 40 38
Large 43 41
XL 46 44
XXL 48 46
XXXL 51 49

Our Two Cents

Here’s another variation of the popular Ronin jacket, but for summer! The shell material is a waxed cotton which is perforated to allow good air flow for hot summer use. Take a look at our photo gallery and you’ll see that the majority of the jacket’s shell is perfed for full air flow. The liner of the jacket is mesh nylon to let the air right on through.

The waxed cotton used in this jacket (and many RDS jackets) looks a little like suede but it is much less heavy than leather would be. This version of the Ronin comes with CE armor in the shoulders and elbows already. There is a pocket so you can add the Forcefield back pad if you like (see link below).

The overall style of this jacket is “standard” and I think nearly any style of rider would feel at home (RSD says it has an “aggressive” fit, but I don’t think so). The overall length is longer than a sport jacket so you’ll get a bit more coverage when on the bike and the jacket will feel more at home off the bike as well. I like how they gave a couple short zips on the sides of the torso down low. This will let the jacket drape more easily over your lap when sitting on the bike.

So either way you go… the Ronin textile for colder to warmer weather or this perforated Ronin for mild to hot weather, you’ll have yourself a comfortable and stylish jacket. :: Paul, 04-12-18
