Sizing Information

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is a touring/street style so there is only a moderate taper from chest to waist, and with a style like this you can effectively tailor the fit of the waist with the internal drawcord waist adjusters, which makes the jacket look great and fit great, so don’t worry if your waist/belly is smaller than the max. We only list this for those that have a belly so they can know what minimum size they’d have to choose to fit the belly.

Note: Add about 1” to your chest and belly measurements if you plan to add a back protector.

Our Two Cents

The REV’IT! Toronto H2O Jacket is a waterproof 3/4 jacket aimed at commuters and touring riders.

The REV’IT! Toronto H2O jacket is fully waterproof thanks to a hydratex® G-liner. This liner is fixed in the jacket and there are no vents so this jacket is going to be ideal for cool to cold, wet or dry weather. Inside the jacket is a removable and reversible destination thermal liner that is very soft and looks great on it’s own. The thermal liner is color coordinated to the outer shell color as well, Dark Green has a matching Dark Green thermal liner while Black has a Dark Grey liner.

The hood system on the Toronto H2O is fully adjustable with a drawcord at the back of the head. The hood can be securely stowed with the Fidlock on the back of the jacket holding it down, or it is easily removed with a zipper and the entire hood compartment then zips closed for a standard collar look. There are hook and loop adjusters at the cuffs and drawcords on the interior of the jacket at the waist that pull to adjust and then press the top of the mechanism to release. The 3/4 styling of this jacket is actually a little longer than expected, but the main zip is a two-way and there are zippered side gussets that allow you to open up the hem by about 6” as well. Over the main zip, there is a snapped storm flap with gaps behind the snaps. These gaps allow you to easily snap the closure with one hand while wearing gloves and also can serve a dual purpose of holding the jacket closed while allowing some air to flow through if you lower the zipper a bit. The thermal destination liner also has drawcord adjusters at the hem.

For storage the Toronto H2O has two zippered water resistant pockets at the belly (I say resistant because the zippers aren’t the kind normally seen on a waterproof pocket but they are taped and on the reverse side of the opening so they should keep water out very well), one waterproof zippered pocket at the left cuff, one waterproof zippered pocket at the chest that is also covered by a flap with a Fidlock closure (this one is a bit odd and overkill for the needs of the jacket since they could have achieved the same thing with a zipper garage, but it should keep whatever you put in there very dry), one napoleon pocket on the right side behind the main zipper storm flap, and one pocket on each side of the inside of the jacket below the thermal liner. The thermal liner also has two hand pockets.

The outer shell of the jacket is a 500D 2L high-performance polyamide PWR with a ripstop pattern. The SeeSmart™ CE-level 1 armor at the elbows and shoulders if thin and flexible but still provides impact protection. The back pocket is prepared for the SeeSoft™ CE-level 2 back protector insert, see related products below. The back of the hood has a laminated reflective material and so do the gusset zippers at the hem.

The REV’IT! Toronto H2O jacket is a good option for the urban or touring rider that is looking for a 3/4 waterproof jacket that has excellent storage and refined styling. This jacket will work well for riding conditions ranging from cold to warm in wet environments. :: Mike, 10/25/2022
