Sizing Information

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and we were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a very tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured the max chest and belly for all the sizes in this jacket and put them in the chart below. Those measurements show this style runs about one size smaller than most jackets, therefore most people will need to buy one size larger than they normally wear in men’s clothing.

I’d suggest you to measure yourself and use the chart to choose a size. This is a sport cut jacket, so there is about 4” taper from the chest to the belly. Make sure the size you choose will be big enough for both your chest and your belly. If you plan to add a back protector, add 1” to your chest and belly measurement before selecting a size from the chart. And if you add the chest protectors, add another 1” to your chest.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate
of Max Belly/Waist
Small 38 34
Medium 40 36
Large 42 38
XL 44 40
XXL 46 42

Our Two Cents

The REVIT Shift H2O offers great protection in a more “modern” styled jacket that is functional and comfortable. Full armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and a full sleeve thermal liner is included for colder weather. The jacket has a built in waterproof liner too.

The shell material for the Shift H2O is a bit different than you might expect. Its a slightly stretchy material. Its average weight and looks very nice. It doesn’t seem to wrinkle at all. The jacket is styled to look very “stealth” where the collar, zippers and other elements blend into the trim black look of the jacket. Even the reflective strips are the “dark” kind that works well with black.

The jacket has a built in waterproof liner behind the shell so it will keep water out in a rain. And it has a full sleeve thermal liner to keep you warm. It has a couple zips on the arms, but they will only be marginally effective for you in warm weather because the full waterproof liner will prevent air flow through to your body. I think this jacket will be best for mild to cold weather and of course wet weather. I don’t think this one will be comfortable in hot weather though.

Full CE level 2 armor is included with the jacket for the shoulders and elbows, which seems to be REVIT’s standard these days. You can add a back protector and/or chest protectors too. With the back and chest protectors installed, this jacket has the best armor package available from REVIT (aside from race jackets with external armor). Just have a look at the sizing advice below for the back pad and take the links at the bottom of this page to buy. The shoulders on this jacket have external protectors too, which are both sharp and functional.

You have options for attaching this jacket to pants or your own jeans. There are two snap-close loops in back you can use with your own pants/belt, or there is a short rear zip you can use with REVIT’s Safeway belt (link below). The short rear zipper will also work with any REVIT pants that have a mating short rear zip.

If I had to put a label on the styling of this jacket, I’d say “urban sport”. It’s really unique and it’s a look REVIT is doing more of these days. And with the slightly stretchy shell, it’s pretty comfortable too. :: Paul, 02-22-19

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5.

REVIT says: The Shift H2O offers an urban, leisure look with subtle hints toward more technical motorcycle gear. Just by looking at it, its clean and minimalist lines will appeal to a broad range of riders. Furthermore, the H2O in the Shift’s name suggests its waterproof nature. Thanks to the hydratex®|G-liner, staying dry is a standard feature. Though, for the warmer days, open up the ventilation zippers to keep you cool. The Shift H2O houses SEEFLEX™ CE-level 2 impact protectors at the elbows and shoulders, with the option to add our SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector insert in the prepared pocket.
