Sizing Information

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is not a “sport” oriented style so there is not a lot of taper from chest to waist, and you can effectively tailor the fit of mid-section with the belt.

Sizing Tip for Those Using Upgraded Armor: Adding the optional CE level 2 back protector will take up some room in the jacket so when making your size selection I’d advise you to add 1” before making your size selection.

Our Two Cents

The REVIT Livengood jacket is part of their city collection and is geared for more urban use. The material and styling are more dressy than your typical motorcycle jacket and the armor is thinner and more flexible to conceal the protection features built in. Armor is inlcuded for the shoulders and elbows and optional for the back.

The shell of this jacket feels like a medium duty cotton material, but its a poly/cotton blend to make it more abrasion resistant that just plain cotton. The removable thermal liner is the one features that stands out to me. It is VERY thick and plush and would provide a great deal of warmth in colder weather. This jacket is not a vented style, so consider this for mild to cold weather and wet weather. The jacket is equipped with an integrated waterproof liner installed between the jacket’s outer shell and inner lining to block water should you get caught in the rain.

A couple nice features I see are the knitted cuffs at the end of the thermal liner which will keep out the cold wind. And there is a stretch cord sewn into the hem at the bottom of the torso to seal out weather at the bottom. The collar is tall too which will keep the cold wind off your neck and the thermal liner has a knitted collar too.

On the outside of the jacket are four patch pockets in front which are functional of course, but also they add to the style. And inside are two more patch pockets.

The armor used in the shoulders and elbows is REVITs thin and flexible SeeSmart armor. This same type of armor is used in their other city collection gear. It gives crash protection, but it is very thin and doesn’t show through to the outside so that the jacket can keep the “urban” look. I can see this jacket as being a perfect pairing with one of REVIT’s riding jeans and boots. REVIT offers a great selection of stylish gear like this. :: Paul, 10-23-18

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5 and for XXXL and larger choose size 6.

REVIT says: Don’t be fooled by the good looks of the Livingstone jacket. While it might look like a stylish piece of streetwear, it really has something up its sleeve… It’s a potent piece of motorcycle clothing ready for the road. It’s up-to-spec in terms of protection, both in impact tests as well as abrasion resistance. SEESMART™ CE-rated body armor follows the human anatomy seamlessly. It also offers motorcycle-ready protection in case of an unfortunate mishap, something that is easily upgradable by adding our SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 rated back protector insert to the party. The polycotton outer shell isa highly cut, tear and abrasion-resistant material yet also beautifully crafted.
