Our Two Cents

The Joe Rocket Turbulent Jacket is water-resistant and has several vents for airflow directly to the body.

The outer shell is made from a treated Rock Tex™ textile material and the zippers are water-resistant as well with the exception of the main zipper. There is a waterproof gusset behind the main zipper though, so anything that gets through will catch in the gusset if you have it zipped up. The jacket has a removable full-sleeve thermal liner as well, so it should be able to get you through 3 seasons of riding in most areas – warm to cold weather. There are several large vents in the jacket that allow air to flow directly to the body, two on either side of the main zipper that open and snap to one another to hold the opening wide for maximum airflow, one on each bicep, and two exhaust vents at the lower back.

For storage, there are two hand pockets at the belly, one small pocket on the lower back, one internal napoleon pocket, and one pocket in the thermal liner at the belly. The CE level 1 armor at the elbows and shoulders is housed in external pockets so you can easily remove it or change it out with a different armor option. The spine protector can be upgraded to a CE armor if you choose as well (see related products below).

The Turbulent has adjusters at the waist, forearm, and cuff. The cuff also has a zippered opening so you can open it wider to go over a glove cuff is necessary. There are reflective piping accents at the front from shoulder to waist, back from shoulder to mid-back, and across the lower back.

The Joe Rocket Turbulent Jacket is a good option for riders that only expect occasional rain. The jacket is ok in just about any weather but ideal only for dry, warm to cool weather. :: Mike, 08/17/2022
