Sizing Information

Joe Rocket jackets are generally an easy fit, but this model jacket fits just like you’d expect a tall size to fit! Both me and Aaron tried on our sizes and compared to the fit of other standard fit Joe Rocket leather styles like the Radar and the sleeves on this sucker are right about 2” longer and the body and tail are longer as well. If you wear a tall size, look no further!

The chest and belly fit of these jackets is pretty standard. Use the chart below to select a jacket size that would be big enough for both your chest and belly. If you have a big chest (relative to your waist), use the side waist adjustment belts to cinch the waist down to get a good fit.

Our Two Cents

So I’m speaking to all the taller people of the world (see my sizing advice above). This is a really sharp jacket for those of you who would like a blacked-out full leather jacket. This one comes in a solid version or a perforated version (see the link below for the other version). The finish of the leather is not shiny like some… it is more of a matte finish. It is very thick and feels nice. I’m sure it would be extremely protective in a fall.

And with this jacket you get lots of protection beyond the leather shell. The armor in the shoulders and elbows is CE approved and feels different than other Joe Rocket styles we carry. The material is softer and more dense. It feels like the D3O energy absorbing type (but I don’t know if it has those exact properties), so it conforms to your elbows or shoulders more easily than the more firm composition armor.

Both the solid and perf versions come with a removable vest thermal liner, but aside from a couple tiny chest vents and a rear vent on the solid version, there isn’t much in the way of climate adjustment features, so choose your version, solid or perforated, wisely! The full perf for hotter weather use (maybe cooler weather with the vest) and choose the solid for cold to mild weather use. And of course choose neither for wet weather!

I like some of the smaller details on this jacket. There is a sharp solid carbon external armor piece on each shoulder and the edge of the collar and the edges of each sleeve are lined with a band of plushy neoprene material. I also like the blacked out nighttime reflective piping (see our night shots in the photo layout).

These jackets have a short rear zipper that could be used to connect to any Joe Rocket pant. There are also snap-close loops you can use to attach to your belt if you are just wearing jeans.

Overall, this is a heavy duty and sharp jacket style. And if you are tall, you are in luck! :: Paul, 04-20-15
