Sizing Information

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a very tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured both the max chest and belly of every size in this jacket and we find them to run consistently smaller than what you find with most alpha sized men’s jackets. I’ve put together a chart for you to choose a jacket based upon your chest size (see below). And for most people, that means you’ll have to buy one size larger jacket than you normally wear in men’s clothing. I’d highly recommend you use a tape and measure yourself and then use the chart to choose the correct size.

Once you determine the correct size for you, the fit of the jacket is easy. It’s an easy style with only a slight taper from chest to waist, which means most body types will do just fine with it. We’ve included a waist/belly measurement so you can make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough for both your chest and belly. The waist of these jackets has an elastic band (bomber jacket style), so if you are smaller than the max waist/belly listed below it will be OK.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate
of Max Belly/Waist
Small 34-37 35
Medium 37-39 37
Large 39-41 39
XL 41-44 42
XXL 44-46 44
XXXL 46-48 46
XXXXL 48-50 48

Our Two Cents

This new REVIT Traction jacket is something a bit different (styling-wise). Its a full mesh style with a removable windproof and waterproof liner. Shoulder and elbows armor is included.

What do you get when you cross a bomber jacket, and mesh summer jacket and a sport/race jacket? Well, you get the new REVIT Traction jacket! This is a full mesh jacket so its aimed at riding in the hot summer months. The mesh material is a heavier duty fabric from REVIT (called PWR mesh). It is still very flow-thru, but it is noticeably heavier and has a tighter weave. I can see how this fabric would hold up better than their most “casual” mesh jackets such as the Torque jacket. The shoulders are reinforced with an external molded protector (for style and for function), and this jacket comes with a set of CE level one armor. The level one armor is flexible and comfortable has a low enough profile not to take away from the casual/urban styling. You can add CE 2 back pad if you like. Sizing advice on the back pad and a link to the product page are listed below.

As you can see, the collar, cuffs and waist band are ribbed material like a bomber style which we see on REVIT’s more urban styles these days. So it’s different from nearly any other mesh jacket we sell. The overall fit is trim (see my sizing advice above) and it is built for smaller frame people. Big/stout guys probably won’t fit a fit since the sleeves are tapered quite a bit.

This jacket comes with a removable full sleeve rain liner. The rain liner will of course keep water off your body in a shower, but it can also serve as a windproof liner as well. Use the windproof liner on cooler days. If you layer some underneath the windproof liner, you could use this jacket in pretty cool temps. I’d say, for most climates, you could go three seasons in this one. The zippers that hold the liner in the jacket are compatible with REVIT’s optional Challenger Cooling Vest which you soak with water and then enjoy the evaporative cooling effect (see the link below).

This jacket offers unique styling and better-than-most protection and armor in a summer style. Take a look through our close up photos to get the full idea. We used the Dark Green/Black color for our photos (which is more of an army tan than green). :: Paul, 02-14-18

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5 and for XXXL and larger choose size 6.
