Sizing Information

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured both the max chest and belly of every size in this jacket and we find them to run consistent with many past styles of REVIT jackets… which is to say consistently smaller than what you find with most alpha sized men’s jackets. I’ve put together a chart for you to choose a jacket based upon your chest size (see below). And for most people, that means you’ll have to buy one size larger jacket than you normally wear in men’s clothing. I’d highly recommend you use a tape and measure yourself and then use the chart to choose the correct size.

Once you determine the correct size for you, the fit of the jacket is easy. The stretch fabric and elasticated waist make this jacket fit a little smaller than most current REV’IT! styles but they do stretch if you want a tight fit, if you are looking for a more relaxed fit you probably want to go up one size. We’ve included a waist/belly measurement so you can make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough for both your chest and belly. Those with a waist that is trimmer than the chart indicates for their chest size should still be fine as the hem has an elasticated band keeping it tight to the torso.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate
of Max Belly/Waist
Small 34-37 34
Medium 37-39 36
Large 39-41 38
XL 41-44 41
XXL 44-46 43
XXXL 46-48 45
XXXXL 48-50 47

Our Two Cents

The REV’IT! Parabolica jacket is part of their “Tech Fashion Collection” and is new for Spring and Summer 2022.

The Parabolica jacket has the appearance of a high-end athletic style hoodie. REV’IT! says the look is inspired by sportswear and even calls the matching pants joggers in their marketing materials. They have the look and feel of a casual sweatshirt with the safety research that REV’IT! has spent years on baked into every garment. The Parabolica jackets are certified to EN 17092 with a AA rating, you can read details on the rating information here. That all sounds fantastic, but what does it mean in layman’s terms? Basically, the jacket has achieved the second highest garment rating that is available in terms of abrasion and impact resistance. For the AAA rating, you’re looking at full racing leather level protection for comparison, so these jackets performed just one notch below. That’s impressive stuff when you have a garment that looks like it’s made for lounging around in comfort. REV’IT! has included their SeeSmart™ CE level 1 elbow and shoulder armor in the Parabolica jacket which is thin and flexible while still offering great protection on impact. The back protector pocket is prepared for the REV’IT! SeeSoft™ CE level 2 back protector which is sold separately (see related products below).

All of the armor is housed in pockets within the jacket that has 3D mesh on the body side that helps to keep air circulating around the armor and also provides some additional padding. The 3D mesh feels a bit like foam padding because of the rigidity of the mesh material, it springs back to shape when compressed. There are two large zippered external hand pockets at the belly. The hood is fixed in place and has an adjustment draw cord on either side just inside the main zipper of the jacket. These are operated by pulling the cords to the desired tension, then locking them in place within the pass through by pulling down while holding the plastic grommet. To release just pop the drawcord back up and out of the narrow portion of the grommet. You can also use the snap on the back of the jacket to hold the hood in place while riding. The lower back has a small reflective strip for nighttime visibility.

The stretch fabric and elasticated waist make this jacket fit a little smaller than most current REV’IT! styles but they do stretch if you want a tight fit, if you are looking for a more relaxed fit you probably want to go up one size. The jacket includes a short connection zipper and two snap belt hoop loops so you can easily mate the pants to a REV’IT! pant with a short connection option, or you can use the REV’IT! Safeway belts (see related products below). The cuff has an extension with built-in thumb loops to hold the sleeves down as well.

The REV’IT! Parabolica Jacket is extremely comfortable, and even with their high level of protection, they feel very much like your normal high-end sweatshirts that you might wear casually. I would recommend these jackets for the rider who wants a subdued, casual look with the protection they need for motorcycle riding. The high level of comfort is just a bonus. They should work great for commuters and urban riders if you can get away with wearing them in the office! :: Mike, 08/12/2022
