Sizing Information

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is not a “sport” oriented style so there is not a lot of taper from chest to waist, and you can effectively tailor the fit of mid-section with the belt.

Note: This jacket comes with a back protector and also a kidney belt which takes up a bit of room in the jacket. Please add 1” to your chest and belly measurements before you choose a size from the chart.

Our Two Cents

The Cayenne Pro jacket by REVIT is a SUPER robust jacket with plenty of flow through mesh for use in hot summer temps. It comes with a full set of CE level 2 armor and a back pad. It even has an onboard kidney belt.

I love the way this jacket feels when I wear it. Normally I don’t have a back protector in jackets when we review them because most REVIT jackets don’t come standard with the back pad. And I certainly don’t see many jackets with a kidney belt as standard. The whole package is just so darn robust feeling! Especially for a summer jacket. This one should give you great confidence while riding. The kidney belt no only supports your back, but it holds the back protector securely and helps to support the jacket so that no all the weight is hanging from your shoulders. It gives the impression that the jacket is “made for you”.

For summer months, this jacket will be great. A large percentage of the shell is heavy duty mesh material that blows right through to the interior of the jacket. The mesh panels are on the torso both front and back and also on the arms, so every part of the jacket will be well vented. There is no “off switch” to the venting and this jacket is not waterproof, so you’ll need something else for cooler months and you’ll need a rain jacket if you think you’ll be in wet weather. But the big advantage to a jacket like this is the degree of venting you get. Other venting schemes such as zip vents just can’t compare in comfort when it’s hot.

You get a full set of SeeSoft CE 2 armor for the shoulders and elbows and you get the REVIT back pad as standard too, so there is nothing else to buy. The inside tail of the jacket has the usual REVIT zippers… one short and one long. You can use those to zip to REVIT riding pants such as the matching Cayenne Pro pants (see link below), or you might want to look into their Safeway Belt setup to attach the jacket to your jeans.

For most, a full mesh jacket will give enough airflow for reasonable comfort, but if you live in REALLY hot and dry conditions, you might want to check out REVIT’s Challenger cooling vest. It’s one of those vests you soak in water and so when you ride with the damp vest, it evaporates water to give more cooling. It will work very well under a mostly-mesh style like this.

The shell materials are very sturdy with this jacket and I like the leather panels on the shoulders and elbows. Those give some extra style and are very abrasion resistant too. Take a look through our photo gallery to see some of the other features closeup. :: Paul, 02-18-19
