The size Medium and XL jackets fit Huey and Dewey, our Fit Check mannequins very nicely, but they offer a snug fit like other European brands!
We put together the size chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. Choose a size that is big enough for both your chest and belly. For most people, you’ll find you need the same size you wear in men’s clothing. Using our standard sizing advice will give you a snug sport riding fit, so if you find yourself between sizes in the chart, choose the larger. If you prefer a more loose fitting jacket, you’ll want to go up one size.

Our Two Cents
The Held Sonic jacket is a flow-through mesh design jacket for hot weather use. It comes with armor in the shoulders and elbows with a pocket for an optional back protector. It offers high build quality and some unique convenience features.
As you can see in the photos, most of the surface area of this jacket is flow through mesh material, so it is aimed at those who will be riding in mild to hot summer weather. The shoulders, elbows and lower torso are covered in ordinary textile material which gives a bit better abrasion resistance in those more crash-prone areas.
For summer use, in addition to the flow through capability of the mesh, this jacket has a mesh placket situated behind the main zipper. So in the summer, you can open the main zipper either part way or all the way and air can flow past the open zipper on through the placket to your body. The placket zips closed to keep the front of the jacket closed in case of a fall. It’s a neat arrangement we’ve seen on several other style jackets. I’ll have to give credit to Joe Rocket as being one of the first to do this with their “big air” design. Anyway, there is PLENTY of venting with this jacket. Being a summer jacket, there are no removable rain/wind liners included, but you could always layer under the jacket with your own gear to make this one work in milder or cooler temps.
Many of the other features on this jacket are similar to other styles, but I see a couple things that are unique to this Held jacket. First is the material used for the liner over where the back pad installs. I’ll include a close-up photo in our gallery to show you, but its a special weave of nylon that results in a series of raised “rails” with mesh material between the raised rails which allows air to flow between your back and the back protector. Its a really neat design. It only adds about 1/8” thickness but would sure be comfortable. Also, inside, I see a dedicated glasses case which is a neat idea. On the other side of the chest is a zippered pocket with a plastic liner. Its probably not completely waterproof but I bet it would be water resistant anyway.
On the outside, I like the large stretch panels behind the shoulders to help you move easily and also I like the large reflective stripes on the biceps which would be easily seen from the side. Overall, this is a very nice summer sports jacket with sharp styling an unusual convenience features. :: Paul, 01-03-18
Add a back protector: We’ve had issues sourcing the back protectors offered by Held, so we aren’t offering those at this time. But in checking the back protector pocket sizes on the jacket, the KR series choices from Alpinestars are a perfect fit and frankly offer more options. For a lighter weight jacket like this, I’d recommend the KR-CELLi or KR-1i so the weight and thickness of the back protector doesn’t overwhelm the jacket chassis, but the KR-2i works as well if you are really concerned about getting the very most rugged back pad you can. Take the link below to the KR-CELLi back protector.
