Sizing Information

This jacket is a standard cut street leather jacket and it fits a bit more relaxed than other Roland Sands leather styles. We measured a selection of sizes and also tried these on our fit test mannequins. Huey is wearing a medium and Dewey is in the XL. These are the sizes they normally wear. The fit looks good.

I’d advise to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, just make sure that the jacket you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly.

Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 38 36
Medium 40 38
Large 43 41
XL 46 44
XXL 48 46
XXXL 51 49

Our Two Cents

The Rockingham leather jacket offers a bit more relaxed fit than most of their other styles, in a matte finish Buffalo. Shoulder and Elbow armor is included!

The overall style of this jacket is of a standard cruiser style but with a bit of retro quilting on the shoulders. The overall length is longer than a sport jacket so you’ll get a bit more coverage when on the bike and the jacket will feel more at home off the bike as well. I like how they gave a couple short zips on the sides of the torso down low. This will let the jacket drape more easily over your lap when sitting on the bike. And for even more freedom of movement the jacket is styled with an “action back”... long gussets of leather behind the shoulders so you can reach forward for the bars easily.

Knox CE armor is already in the the jacket for the shoulders and elbows and you can add a back protector too if you like (see the link below). This is one of the few RSD leather jackets I’ve seen shipped already with armor. The armor is a bit thicker than the armor available for their other jackets and thankfully the jacket is cut to make room for it. I found the sleeve and shoulders to have more room than other more trim RSD styles, even with the armor installed.

This jacket offers perforated panels in the sleeves to flow some air, but otherwise it is an un-vented jacket, so its best use will be in milder temps (not too hot and not too cold). The leather shell feels great… it is a matte finish buffalo. It feels almost like a short nap suede. It is super flexible and soft and should break in like a dream. :: Paul, 03-22-18

Roland Sands says: Genuine, top grain RSD “matte buffalo” leather (1.0-1.2mm thickness). Classic riding fit with rotated, pre-curved sleeves, dropped back length and relaxed collar.
