REV'IT! Cordite Jacket

This jacket is offered in European sizes. The normal formula to convert a European size to a US size is to subtract 10 from the European size to get the approx US chest size, and most REVIT sport jacket styles run about 1” smaller than that rule of thumb. But this style bucks that trend by running about 1/2 size (1” larger through the chest) than expected. Based on measurements, most people will choose a European size that is one size smaller than they normally choose for a snug fit, or the same size they normally wear for a roomy fit. I’d recommend choosing a size based upon your chest and belly measurements and the instructions below.

We’ve put together a chart to help you choose the best size for you. Measure both your chest and belly and choose a size that will be big enough for both. The jackets are cut more casually and so the taper from chest to waist isn’t nearly as aggressive as a sport/race jacket, so the belly size won’t be an issue for most, but I put my estimate of max belly so you can make sure. Adjusters on each side of torso at the waist line allows you to snug down the belly area by about 4” total.

The Cordite Jacket by REVIT is a new street/cruiser style leather jacket for 2020. Armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and a back pad can be added. The leather and styling here are fantastic!

I just love the look and feel of the leather in this jacket style. It is so soft! But the thickness and overall heft of the jacket is on par with other leather styles we carry. Having both thickness and softness in motorcycle leather jackets is pretty rare and I personally think it is great. The finish on these jackets isn’t the traditional “slick” finish, but rather it is a softer matte finish. And the color shows some of the natural grain of the leather too.

The overall fit of the jacket is casual (see our sizing advice), and I think you’ll find yourself wearing this jacket both on and off the bike. The styling is pretty classic, and the quilting on the shoulders gives a retro vibe. The zippers are a silver finish, but they are a slightly tarnished finish like pewter. The waist adjusters are done with a matching metal buckle rather than Velcro or snaps found on most other styles. The collar is the classic mandarin style.

Armor inserts are included for the shoulders and elbows as standard. It’s REVIT’s SeeSmart CE Level 1 armor which is their best armor line and CE level one being the lighter and thinner version which is appropriate for a street style jacket like this. The armor is a firm rubber compound and it is molded in a honeycomb pattern. The back protector is optional. The jacket is equipped with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). Take the link below to order. In the inside tail of the jacket are a couple snap-close loops you can use to connect the jacket to your belt or loops on your jeans. There is also the traditional short rear zipper to connect to REVIT riding pants. Personally, I think most people will opt to wear this jacket with riding jeans or just their own jeans, so consider the consider connecting the jacket to your favorite jeans with REVIT’s Safeway belt (take the link below). It’s a neat alternative that is more secure.

The Cordite will be a favorite for those that appreciate a jacket made with fine leather that is more fashionable than most. I personally like this style very much. Be sure and check out the Olive color… very unusual in the motorcycle world. :: Paul, 02-10-20
