Sizing Information

We measured and tried on some samples in this vest and they fit as expected. Choosing a vest size is generally easier than with a jacket since you don’t have to worry about the fit of the shoulders and sleeves. I’d advise you to simply choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you between sizes, I’d advise choosing the smaller since these vest are generously sized for the US market.

FWIW, I visited the Cortech website to have a look at their sizing chart for vests and for some reason it is WAY OFF,,, by one or two sizes. For example, I measured a size XL in this vest to have a max chest in the 46”-48” range and they estimate a size 44” for the XL.

Our Two Cents

The Bandito vest by Cortech is a good looking vest made of canvas and leather. It includes a good number of pockets for convenience.

I think the collar and pocket flaps in leather are sharp and give a bit of a western look. The collar tips have snaps to keep them from flapping against your neck when you get up to speed.. The canvas material is tough, but should be very comfortable to wear. And the inside liner will surely start some conversion. I’m not sure what the colors and patterns remind me of. The 1970?s, A Sarape? (Mexican blanket). Anyway, the satin material makes a nice liner and I like it. Cortech’s description says it is “insulated”, but I feel only a VERY thin layer of material quilted to the back of the satin liner. It feels nice, but don’t get the idea this vest can be used to add a significant layer against the cold.

This vest has a nice selection of pockets including a large rear fanny pocket and an inside gun pocket too. The two lower front pockets are actually two in one. A large patch pocket covers a traditional zippered hand pocket.

A large canvas placket covers the main zipper and has hidden snaps to keep it closed. All that will make sure you don’t scratch your tank’s paint with your vest hardware. Note: this vest does not offer any crash provision features. :: Paul, 07-22-21
