REV'IT! Quantum 2 Air Jacket

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

Judging the fit ourselves, we conclude that the fit is just about one half-size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest sizes for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. When choosing a size based upon your chest and belly measurements be sure to choose a size that is large enough for BOTH. If you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to your body measurements before using the chart.

This new Quantum 2 Air Jacket by REVIT offers sport jacket styling made with a mostly-mesh material to promote a lot of airflow for hot summer months. This jacket is equipped with CE 1 flexible armor for the shoulders and elbows and has provisions for an optional back protector.

REVIT’s Quantum line of jackets includes a race-ready leather sport jacket with a very high level of protection. This Quantum 2 Air jacket is offered as an option for street riding in the hot summer months. This jacket has a lot of the same styling queues of the race jackets and also has a sport cut to it, but the shell is mostly mesh material and the shoulders and elbow areas are made of solid textile materials. The sport looks come also from the digital color patterns on the arms/shoulders and the raised external armor on the shoulders. And although the jacket looks racy, the cut is comfortable enough for everyday use. It is also much lighter weight than a sport/race jacket. This jacket, being largely mesh isn’t waterproof nor is it equipped with a removable waterproof liner, so consider this jacket for mild to hot summer temps in fair weather.

The Quantum 2 Air is fitted with REVIT’s SEESMART™ CE-level 1 armor units in the shoulders and elbows which is a lightweight and flexible design. It molds well to your body and is relatively thin and since it has a honeycomb construction, it works well in a summer jacket like this. Have a look at our photo gallery to see what it looks like. REVIT includes two ways to connect the back of the jacket to your pants. There are two simple snap-close loops you can use to attach the tail to your belt, and then there is also a short rear zipper that can zip to compatible REVIT riding pants. Alternately, you could buy one of REVIT’s Safeway belts which can be used to more securely attach the jacket to any pair of pants you have that use a belt (see below).
