Sizing Information

We checked the sizing of this style with our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. They are wearing size Medium and XL jackets respectively. These are their “usual” sizes and they fit just fine. We also checked the chest and belly of the other sizes and find them to fit OK too. Therefore, we recommend you choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If anything, we find the fit to be generous, so if you are between sizes, I’d advise the smaller.

Another way to refine your size selection is to measure your chest and belly and then use our size chart (below) which lists max chest and max belly sizes for each jacket size. The measurements in the chart are a combination of the manufacturer’s size chart and also the measurements we take on the product samples. After you measure, you can choose a jacket size using the chart. You’ll want to choose a size that will accommodate both your chest and belly.

Alpha Size Max Chest Size Max Belly Standard Sleeve Length
Small 39 36 25.5
Medium 41 38 26
Large 43 40 26.5
XL 45 42 27
XXL 49 46 27.5
XXXL 52 49 27.5
XXXXL 55 52 28

Our Two Cents

The new Koraza jacket by Tourmaster is their “entry level” street textile jacket. This is a solid textile design with a fixed (built in) waterproof liner. Included is CE armor in the shoulders and elbows and an option back protector is available.

You may ask yourself… “What am I not getting with the Koraza that I’d get in a more fully featured (and more expensive) jacket?”, so let me compare this jacket to the Tour Master Intake to lay it out for you. The waterproof liner on this jacket is built in (non-removable) which for rain works fine to keep you as dray as as those with a removable liner, but since the liner is always in the jacket, you lose venting capability since a waterproof liner doesn’t allow air to flow directly through the jacket. You also don’t get a removable thermal liner, but you can overcome that by using your own garment to wear underneath the jacket to give some warmth. Happily, the armor package in this jacket is the same as their others (more about that below), but the shell is a single layer of moderately sturdy nylon. You don’t get upgrades to sturdier materials in key areas like the shoulders and elbows. As for fit, you get basic Velcro adjuster tabs at the waist, but none on the arms. The night time reflective materials are minimum and the jacket is just plain black. There is no zipper connection to mate to compatible Tour Master riding pants. Having said all that, this is a very low cost jacket with basic functionality and may well work just fine for you.

As I mentioned, there are no adjustable venting options here so you won’t like this jacket in hot summer months, but also as I mentioned, the shell materials are made of a lighter material which will help it to not be oppressively hot. The fixed waterproof liner doubles as a wind barrier, so in cooler weather, you’ll have the advantage. And if you layer underneath with your own garments, you can take this one on cold days too.

For storage you get a some basics. In front you get two zippered hand warmer pockets down low and two outside zippered pockets up on the chest. Inside, you’ll find a single patch pocket for your phone or wallet.

About the armor: Tour Master is featuring SafeTech brand armor in their 2020 and later products. The jacket includes shoulder and elbow armor inserts that are CE level 2 rated. The material is a more flexible and “squishy” rubberized material, which I think is an improvement in comfort over past designs using less flexible black solid rubber. The jacket has a fabric pocket for a back protector. The jacket comes standard with a simple thin foam back pad (mostly a place holder). Optionally you can buy a CE rated back protector by SafeTech for about twenty bucks (something I’d recommend).

This is a “just the basics” sort of jacket, but for many, its enough, and the price is certainly right! And even though it’s an entry level product, it carries the same basic quality of construction that comes with all Tour Master products and the same armor package as all the others too. :: Paul, 01-25-21
