Sizing Information

We’ve found that some REV’IT! sport gloves run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands… much like Alpinestars. This glove is not so snug that I’d recommend you buy one size larger than normal, but certainly if you are between sizes, then choosing the larger of the two should work. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help

Our Two Cents

The Prime glove and Echo gloves are two new styles that are protective and well vented for summer use. Both are very nice gloves and very similar. And I just finished looking at two other similar styles to the Prime and Echo models, so I thought I’d tell you about these two in the same writing along with comparing them to the similar Fly 3 and Velocity since all four have similar functionality and are all new for 2020.

All four models are made for summer use since they are all short cuff and have provision for lots of venting. All four have an extended cuff length that covers the wrist bone which has the advantage of covering your wrists so you don’t get a sunburn. And all have sturdy knuckle armor and secure to the hand with a Velcro strap at the wrist.

I thought it might be helpful to you if I quickly lay out the main differences between these four new styles for 2020, so here it goes…

Fly 3: This one is the only one of the four styles made of all perforated leather. The others vent by being part mesh/textile and leather. Those who like a good looking all leather glove will prefer this one. Styling-wise I can see cruiser and/or street bike riders liking this style.

Prime: Leather palm and part-leather and mesh on the back of the hand. This one has a large softer knuckle armor piece. It is carbon fiber looking but it is a flexible rubber which makes it a bit more “cushy” than hard plastic knuckle protectors. This one has a patch of neat looking grey camo leather on the thumb. And this one is available in colors that make them look more “racy”. If you have a sport bike, you’ll like the styling here.

Echo: Also part leather and mesh on the back of the hand, this one is noticeably lighter than the others. I think the knuckle protector is not a large solid rubber unit which cuts down on the weight. But it feels protective just the same. This is the only model that has a large hard plastic palm slider as you see on many race gloves. The “honeycomb fade” rubber accent on the back of the wrist looks neat. Overall the best protection for the heel of the hand.

Velocity: This is the least expensive of the three gloves by twenty bucks. The main thing you lose is significant padding or armor in the heel area of the hand, but otherwise, this one has most of the same features. If you don’t care about that, then save yourself twenty bucks and get this one.

REVIT says: The REV’IT! Prime gloves are an entry-level answer to sportive street riders who look to match safety and style without going full spec. The partially ventilated, short cuffed Prime comes standard with a hard knuckle protector on top of the armor that comes from the highly abrasion resistant leather outer shell. With a no-nonsense approach toward sportive street riding, the REV’IT! Prime gloves cover the basic needs to those looking for a comfortable glove that carries the sportive looks they are after.
