Our Two Cents
The Mesh-Tex gloves for 2012 are a short cuff design with a more sporty fit. Firstgear uses a combination of mesh, leather and synthetic leather on this glove. There is enough of the mesh to make it work for nearly any type of hot weather though. Overall the gloves are very comfortable. My only pan would be the little plastic knuckle guards on the back of the hand. I don’t think they’d be very effective in a real crash and the placement is a bit off. The guards over the last two knuckles are a bit too far to the side of the hand. That may only be noticed by the wearer since anybody looking won’t see your knuckles underneath, but I just thought it was a bit weird and worth a mention. There is a Velcro wrist adjuster that should help keep the gloves securely on the hands. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some good closeups of this glove. :: Paul, 12-10-11
