Sizing Information
We find REV’IT! gloves to run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands… much like Alpinestars. This glove is not so snug that I’d recommend you buy one size larger than normal, but certainly if you are between sizes, then choosing the larger of the two should work. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help
Our Two Cents
The REVIT Sirius 2 H2O winter gloves are new for 2020 and are an update from the original Sirius from 2015.
This new version of the Sirius uses a sport bike inspired knuckle protector and a new large temperfoam protection piece that covers most of the back of the wrist. Otherwise, it’s very similar to the first version.
Many winter gloves for motorcycling don’t focus much on crash protection, but this glove offers quite a bit. The primary protection features are the molded knuckle piece on the back of the hand and also the palm slider. The palm slider will promote sliding of the hand if you fall rather than contact and twisting or rolling which is more prevalent in a glove without some sort of slider. As I mentioned above, the gauntlet has a large foam armor piece situated in the gauntlet over the top side of the arm. It’s fairly thick but VERY flexible, so you won’t even notice it’s there.
The molded plastic knuckle armor piece gives this glove a bit of sport styling as compared to many winter gloves. The textiles are high-end looking and the leather parts feel very nice. In just trying the gloves on, they feel great because they have super plushy liner material.
The overall thickness of insulation is moderate and will work for most people down to pretty cold temps. REVIT puts thicker insulation on the back of the hand, a slightly thinner insulation on the palm side as to retain better control feel. The material on the side of the index finger is a soft “wiper” material to help with your shield and the tips of the index finger and thumb are conductive so you can operate your phone with the gloves on.
My impression is that this glove is a very nice choice and the price is very reasonable for a winter/waterproof model that is so nicely constructed and with some significant armor. In the REVIT lineup, it’s one of the most protective of the gloves that ISN’T GoreTex, and is priced pretty reasonably for what it is. :: Paul, 02-21-20
