Icon Tarmac 2 Glove (MD Or LG Only)

These gloves fit consistently with the major American designed brands we carry such as Tour Master, Joe Rocket, FirstGear, etc, which are “normal” in fit and size. And they are a bit more roomy than some European brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! that typically run about a half size smaller than the American “normal” fit. Hopefully you have some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair.

The Tarmac 2 glove is for street riders in the fall and spring and for weather conditions that may include rain. These gloves are soft and comfortable but have some protective features too. They are light weight and relatively inexpensive.

The most significant protective feature in this glove is the molded knuckle protection built in under the glove’s textile shell. D3O is an excellent armor material because it is light and very flexible, but it becomes momentarily very firm when impacted. With the inside plushy lining and a light layer of insulation over the back of the hand, you won’t even feel the armor.

The material used in the palm of the hand is a man-made leather, which I’ve seen introduced this year by a number of high quality glove manufacturers. The material is advertised as more abrasion resistant and with better wear than natural leather. Could be… time will tell. The palm side of the hand is lined but not insulated. You’ll have excellent feel for the controls.

The cuff on this glove is long enough to cover your wrists and is made to tuck under a jacket sleeve, so this style will work with any jacket with a normally sized sleeve end. The only style where it wouldn’t work is a sport jacket with very close fitting cuffs.

I think these gloves will work well in milder temps and at times when it rains lightly. Since they are a short cuff design, they won’t work as well in rain as a traditional waterproof glove with a longer gauntlet. :: Paul, 11-12-19
