Highway 21 Deflector Cold Weather Gloves

We generally advise that Highway 21 gloves run about like other US based manufacturers, but this particular model runs a little snug, probably because of the insulation involved. They are just a tad more snug… not so much I’d advise to buy a size smaller, but if you are between sizes sometimes, I’d advise you choose the larger. I’m liking these Deflector gloves by Highway 21. They have a more sport fit, especially for an insulated glove and they have a unique removable gauntlet.

This glove is all leather on the outside and has some built in insulation… I’d characterize it as “medium” thickness. The gloves are also fitted with a waterproof liner under the leather. The gloves’s cut has some finesse, so the gloves aren’t too puffy and they have a nice pre-curved shape to them (many winter gloves don’t).

The cuff of the glove is knitted to keep out the cold, but over that is a removable wind defector… sort of a half gauntlet which will shield your sleeve end from the wind. You can use that defector or not depending upon what jacket you are using.

The knuckles are protected with a molded armor piece that has some foam under it, so it is comfortable to wear. The palm side has a second layer of leather with a bit of padding underneath and a quilted stitch design. These gloves sort of make me feel like Batman!
