Sizing Information

Most Dainese gloves we’ve carried run snug like other European brands, but this particular style seems to run “normally” like other US brands. So choose the size you normally wear.

Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Our Two Cents

The Tempest D-Dry gloves are a great textile waterproof style from Dainese which are competitively priced but offer very good quality. These gloves come in two VERY SIMILAR versions… the short cuff and the long cuff (take the link below to see the other version). Also, these gloves come in very small sizes so they are meant to be “unisex” so you will be able to find a size to fit women and youth.

I think this glove will be great for everyday commuters needing a glove which will work in occasional rain and also one that offers better-than-most armor/visibility features. The prices are quite reasonable I think.

The outside of the glove is typical nylon material on the back of the hand and and cuff and the palm is suede. There is double material in parts of the palm and also padded areas on the heel of the hand. The knuckle gets a molded protector for impact protection which looks nice and feels good too. Both version have a secure closure at the wrist to make sure the gloves stay in place in case of a fall.

There is good night time visibility on these gloves and there is also a shield wiper on the thumb. The tip of the index finger has conductive material so you can manipulate your tech devices with the gloves on.

A waterproof liner is integrated in between the outer shell and inside plushy liner to keep your hands dry, and there is a very light fill material in the glove for some light insulation. I’d recommend this setup for mild to cold-ish weather… say spring and fall. For very cold weather or hot weather, you’ll want something else.

Short cuff or long cuff? A short cuff will definitely fit under the sleeve end of a non-race style jacket cuff, where the long cuff would be better over a sport/race jacket. But the cuff on the long glove will snug down pretty small too, so I’d say the long glove is more versatile. :: Paul, 08-15-18

Dainese says: For those who want maximum versatility in a compact glove, the Tempest Unisex D-Dry® Short transitions seamlessly from urban commuting to all-day outings. A Visor Wiper and Dainese’s proprietary D-Dry® membrane shrug off the elements, and Smart Touch fingertips can be used on touch screens.
