Sizing Information

These jackets are sold by chest size. Choose the size that corresponds with your chest measurement (or suit coat size if you know it). We tried a 46 and a 42 on our fit check mannequins and they fit very well. The overall cut of these jackets is relaxed so there is not a lot of taper from the chest to the waist/belly. We’ve listed some estimated max belly sizes in the chart below. If you have a bit of a belly, then just make sure that your belly size does not exceed the max belly size of the jacket you are choosing.

Our Two Cents

I think the Mesa Leather Jacket is a great product. In years past, River Road has been on the low end of the quality scale, but in 2010 and 2011 things have suddenly changed. The leather and overall construction of these jackets looks great to me. The styling of this particular model would satisfy a wide range of riders from cruiser to sport. The front and back of the jacket is fitted with zippered vents (take a look at the close-up pictures by clicking the “View Larger Images” link above) that can be used to move some air through the jacket in warmer weather, and the jacket also comes with a very nice removable thermal liner. Nicer than most in fact because it also comes with a nifty neck warmer to bridge the gap between your neck and helmet. Overall, I’d call this a three season jacket… spring, fall and winter. When summer temps get REALLY hot, you won’t want to wear a solid black leather jacket like this (even with the vents open). There are also lots of pockets built in. There are duplicate pockets in the thermal liner and just the regular jacket liner so you will have the same pocket choices with or without the liner. This particular feature and also the neck warmer thing are amazingly close to features you’d see in a FirstGear jacket. I’m beginning to wonder if these jackets aren’t made by the same company?? Anyway, overall, I recommend this style as being a good quality jacket in an attractive package—Paul, 02-09-12
