Sizing Information

We checked the fit on these jackets with our size mannequins and we also spot checked a few different size jackets with a tape. We feel this model runs true to size. The jackets are sold in ordinary “alpha” sizes, so you can choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If anything, they run just a bit on the snug side so if you are between sizes, I’d suggest the larger.

For those that want to check the size based upon their chest measurement, I put together the chart below. If you check Cortech’s website, you’ll find a slightly different chart than the one below. I put this one together based upon measuring the actual inventory.

The overall cut of this jacket is ideal for street riding. It is more relaxed through the torso and not as “forward leaning” as a sport bike/race jacket. If you have a bit of a belly, you might want to check to make sure the jacket you choose will be big enough in the waist/belly. The max belly for any given size is about 2” less than the max chest in the chart. For example, a size XL has a 45” chest and a 43” max belly. Sleeve lengths are average.

Alpha Size Max Chest Size Max Belly
XS 37 35
Small 39 37
Medium 41 39
Large 43 41
XL 45 43
XXL 47 45
XXXL 50 48

Our Two Cents

This new Dino leather jacket by Cortech is aimed at riders of cruiser or retro bikes. The leather is “pre-aged” so you’ll see some lighter colors showing through the finish at the edges just as if you’d had this jacket for years. Also, there are some styling queues that make you think “retro” as well such as the quilted sleeves and elbows and the antiqued button snaps.

The overall quality of this jacket is quite good… better than average and commensurate with its price point in my opinion. The hardware looks to be of high quality. The inside liner is a sharp looking reddish colored nylon (a bit more stylish than the usual black mesh). With the armor installed (all is removable if it’s not your thing), the jacket feels very substantial. We sell a number of cruiser or retro jackets that don’t come with armor, so this jacket having it will be a plus for most since you won’t have to pay extra for it.

There isn’t much in the way of climate control here…. this is basically a mild and fair weather jacket, so enjoy this one when the weather is really pretty out. You certainly could layer under the jacket for added warmth, but there aren’t any venting features, so grab yourself a mesh style for the really hot temps. :: Paul, 02-07-17
