Sizing Information

We checked the fit on these jackets with our size mannequins and we also spot checked a few different size jackets with a tape. We feel this model runs true to size. The jackets are sold in ordinary “alpha” sizes, so you can choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.

For those that want to check the size based upon their chest measurement, we put together the chart below. This chart shows the chest size ranges for each jacket and max belly. The taper on the jackets is very mild, so most people (even those with a bit of a belly) should easily find a fit. Just make sure the size you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly. if you have a more athletic build (big drop from chest to belly size), then this one might not be a good choice since there isn’t any adjustability on the fit of the waist. Average to stout people should find an easy fit.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 40 38
Medium 42 40
Large 44 42
XL 46 44
XXL 49 47
XXXL 52 50
XXXXL 56 54

Our Two Cents

The Highway 21 Motodrome jacket is a classically styled leather jacket. The two tone color scheme and quilted stitching offer a “retro” look.

The leather used in this jacket is made to look well-worn right out of the gate. The seams are slightly rubbed to make it looks like you’ve been wearing it for a year. The overall cut is easy to wear… it is a casual style which most people should be comfortable with.

The jacket comes with four zippered vents in front and two exhaust vents in the back. Two of the front zips are on the sleeve ends. Those sleeve end zippers are “two way” meaning they zip open from the cuff or from the top down. By zipping from the top down, you create a sleeve-end vent. The two zip vents on the front chest also double as pockets. Just don’t stow anything in those pockets that can blow out! The jacket also comes with a full sleeve thermal liner to add some wind-block and insulation in colder temps. With all these features, I’d say this one will work great in cool to warm temps… most everything except very cold or very hot times of the year.

Pockets for the addition of armor are located in the liner. You can add shoulder, elbow or back. Those links are provided below if you want to add the armor. At the time of our writing, Highway 21 doesn’t offer their own “house brand” of armor, but we tried the D3O in the jacket and it fits just fine. It is really nice stuff. I’d recommend the CE level 1 choice for the elbows and shoulders because the level 2 protectors might be too thick.

Overall, this is a very nice looking jacket for a reasonable price. The overall styling is classic so you can’t go wrong with this one. :: Paul, 10-25-19

Highway 21 says: Built in 1910, the Los Angeles Motordrome was the first motorcycle boardtrack race complex. The ‘Motordrome Jacket’ by Highway 21 is a thoroughly modern piece of riding gear with a heavy stylistic nod to boardtrack race history. Equipped with dual chest vent pockets, large forearm vents, and built out of premium leather, the Motordrome Jacket will keep you cool and protected from the splinters flying off the track ahead of you.
