Welcome to the future of hot weather footwear from ICON. The ventilated textile upper with TechTuff overlays provides airflow and durability when the temperatures are on the rise. The BOA closure makes for easy on/off, while internal D3O ankle inserts provide increased coverage. Hi-rebound foam midsole enhances rider comfort, while a reinforced midfoot shank provides additional structure. Finally, the premium rubber outsole increases oil & slip resistance in wet road conditions.

We found these boots to fit true to the stated size, so choose the size you normally wear in street shoes. I thought the width was “medium” or C/D.

Our Two Cents

The original Icon Overlord Boots debuted in 2014 and were a slightly taller leather street boot. This Icon Overlord Vented CE boot is an update geared towards urban and commuter riders who are looking for style, comfort, and protection.

The Icon Overlord Vented boot is CE certified to EN 13634:2017 level 1 1 1 1 SRA. The boots have D3O ankle inserts. The reinforced shifter overlay is at the middle of the boot below the lacing system, kind of out of place for a shifter protector if you ask us. Most of the area that would come in contact with a shifter here is mesh so that’s on your toes and will probably wear out quick if you shift often.

Those mesh lower sections may not hold up well to shifters, but they will flow a ton of air. This boot is ideal for hot weather riding. The sole is slip resistant and comfortable to walk in. The black version has a gray sole with recycled material showing as specs throughout which is very reminiscent of some popular sneakers out there.

The lace up system here is BOA, which is super simple to use and gives you a uniform secure closure. Just pop the BOA button to release, then once they are on push the button down and turn to tighten to the desired tension.

The Icon Overlord Vented CE boots are a good option for urban and commuter riders in warm to hot environments. The boots are very comfortable and have a pop of style that you don’t see often in the motorcycle world. :: Mike, 10/25/2022
