Our Two Cents
This new Pro Lite K Back protector insert is new for 2016. It could be used in any jacket with a pocket of compatible size and shape, but it is specifically designed for many AGV jackets.
This back protector is made of three layers… a honeycomb type material on the front and the back that sandwich in a yellow layer of dense foam in between. The overall thickness is close to an inch and the welting makes the whole arrangement significantly stiffer than the Super Lite.
For me personally, I’d opt for the more comfortable and lighter Super Lite model for a street jacket just because I think the thinner and more flexible design would stand a better chance of not being a bother. The overall weight is not noticeably different. But of course you’d be choosing less of a protection level, so ultimately the choice is yours. :: Paul, 03-24-16
Here’s what Forcefield has to say about the Pro Lite K: In true Forcefield style, the Pro has evolved into the Pro-Lite K. The continued development by our materials specialists has resulted in the CE level 2 inserts being lighter in weight by up 30%! The addition of Kevlar thread maximizes the strength and durability of the inserts. So they are stronger and lighter- however these also offer even more impact protection than the last generation.
