Iconboot
July 7, 2010
These boots replace the leather work boots I had been wearing. These Icons seem much sturdier and more supportive, but I would guess not as protective as real racing boots in a fall. On the other hand, the race style boots look like a real challenge to walk in. The Icons are a bit stiff but comfortable and stable for walking. One complaint I had heard about these boots is that it is difficult to shift gears with them on, due to the rather large toe section not wanting to fit under the lever. My experience has been that up shifting gears was awkward the first time I wore the boots, so I adjusted the lever up a tiny bit. After this adjustment and one day worth of riding working the gear shift lever up or down felt fine.
