I bought these after years of having so-so winter gloves that never kept me warm or dry. I haven't tested these in a gail but they're very substantial. Big gauntlets, lot of protective padding 9but still very usable), cinchable inner sleeve and built-in waterproof overglove that stores in the gauntlet areas. Very well made and a good bargain. Overall, I'm very happy.
