Sizing Information

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To choose a size, please click here to see the TCX size chart. The general width of TCX is “medium” or D to E. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

Our Two Cents

I’ve reviewed a lot of recent boot models that could be described as “hikers”. They are very popular these days. But in trying on this X-Move Waterproof boot, I’m very impressed. TCX makes a high quality product and they have a certain “heft” to them that a lot of other boots don’t. This boot has quite a bit of stiffness to it, so the taller ankle coverage feels like it will give more support than most. Overall comfort is excellent. I like the overall trim look and feel as compared to some boots that are more “clunky”. These should be a good boot for smaller shifter arrangements on sport bikes. The sole is a semi-smooth, harder compound material which is more like a sport boot. If you look at our close-up pictures, you can see the little round protectors built into the ankle area. They are a little thicker than most and feel like they’d do more for you upon impact. The laces on the boots are quick and easy to loosen and tighten and there is a nifty pull ring on the back to help you get them on. The boots have a few reflective spots on them (again see our pics). The waterproof barrier in the boots comes up about as high as the bottom of the Velcro close strap…just above the ankle bone. Overall, I really like this style and I think you will too. :: Paul, 03-12-13
