Sizing Information

Please see our TCX Sizing Information page for help in choosing a size. I tried on my size and as expected the fit seemed about right. Of all the brands we carry, TCX seems to be most consistent from model to model. I’d characterize the width as C or D or Medium.

Our Two Cents

The S-Speed and S-Speed Waterproof boots are being introduced for 2014 as a “mid-level” race or street sport boot. The Waterproof version includes an integral waterproof/breathable liner between the boot’s outer and inner liners, so you don’t see it, but it will keep you dry in rainy conditions. We sell some “top of the line” race boots from Alpinestars and Sidi that will exhibit a lot of the same safety protective features you see listed for this boot (above), which will come in closer to $300, and we have some similar boots from Cortech that are around $150, so these boots coming in in the lower to mid-$200s puts them right in the middle of the pack. Overall, I think the value is there. The boots have a very substantial protector on the shin and they also have some stabilization for the ankle. The ankle stabilization admittedly isn’t as robust as the higher priced boots, but it offers certainly more than sport tour boots. The insides of the boots are lightly padded and smooth and shouldn’t give any trouble for break in. About the only thing I don’t like about the boots is the material used for the flex panels in the instep/ankle area (the silver part). The padding and horizontal quilting sort of reminds me of 80s moon boots, but I think I’m just showing my age. The other (younger guys) in the office thought they looked fine. Overall a very nice boot and a good choice if you want something between full-on expensive race boots and boots at the low end of the scale. :: Paul, 12-18-13

Service was top notch, products arrived in mint condition within a week (pretty good considering the order was consolidated to ship 3-5 days later and it had to make the trip across the pacific ocean). Very satisfied with the TCX S-speed boots, which are sturdy yet comfortable and invulnerable to the rain. The apex drystar gloves are great for keeping warm when it rains, but gives little tactile feedback and is too hot for use in tropical climates. (Read more...)
