Sizing Information

We tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and both fit great. The jackets are roomy. My primary advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you are between sizes I’d advise you to go down.

The chart provided by Speed and Strength shows chest sizes for each alpha size that are a bit larger than what you’d normally see for “standard” conversion from chest size to alpha size. Based on my observations (above), the chart seems just about right.

Size Small Medium Large XL 2XL 3XL
Chest 38-40 40-42 42-45 46-48 49-52 53-56
Sleeve 33 34 35 1/2 36 1/2 37 37 1/2

Our Two Cents

This new Under the Radar mesh jacket is designed for the hottest weather use. Lots of people have more than one jacket to span the seasons where they live. And if you live in a climate that gets over about 90F in the summer, you’ll probably want a full mesh jacket in your closet. Lots of mesh jackets have features to extend the usable temperature range of the jacket so it can be used in mild or cool temps as well. Sometimes it is a wind proof liner and sometimes a thermal liner of some sort. And then some jackets are part mesh and part-leather or textile. But all those features add bucks to the price and that is NOT the idea here. This jacket is a full mesh shell that will give full flow of air all over… everywhere! So you’ll get max comfort in warm weather and the price is very affordable. We took photos of the silver jacket which I think would be great for really hot weather. The fabric is shiny and will reflect some and the light color won’t absorb as much sun. But the other colors will be comfy also… it’s really a matter of style choice. The jackets are equipped with the usual CE armor in the elbows and shoulders and they have a better-than-most back pad. You also get a couple hand warmer pockets and adjustments for fit on the arms and on the waist. Inside, there are little snaps you can use to anchor the tail of the jacket to your jeans belt. And there is just a bit of reflective material on the back. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see all these things in our photo gallery. If you are after a basic full mesh jacket that will do the job in the hottest weather, then you found it! :: Paul, 05-15-14
