Sizing Information

We tried on a sampling of these boots and thought the fit was true to the stated size. If anything, they’d be a bit on the shorter side, so if you were between sizes, I’d advise you to choose larger. The width is “normal” or “D”. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see the height measurements.

Our Two Cents

Hard Knock Life Boots… allow me to digress just a moment. When I took these to the studio for photos, I kept trying to remember where I’d heard the name. The boots look pretty macho/work/military so I thought it might be an action movie, etc, but then I remembered… it’s from Annie! WWHHAATT?? Oh… and now I see Jay-Z is on the same bandwagon. But the TOPPER is this beat boxing flute player.

Anyway, back to the task at hand… about the boots. Actually these are a really nice boot for the money. We carry a number of work/hiker styles like this from various sources. The MOST similar is the Icon Super Duty. This boot is just a bit lighter weight with a lower profile sole and toe box. The overall longevity of the boot might not be as good as some of the more “beefy” choices, but it appears to be plenty good to me and you’ll also enjoy the comfort and lighter weight aspects of the boots when off the bike. The overall looks of the boot are great. I think anybody would be comfortable with them on the bike or anywhere else. The motorcycle specific features are the recessed laces (tucked under the strap to cut down the possibility of entanglement), the additional padding on the sides of the ankle, the protective shifter pad on the toe and the stiffened toe box and heel cup. At under $100 shipped, I think they are a very good value. And you’ll never forget the name! :: Paul, 09-15-12
