Sizing Information

This jacket is sold in “alpha sizes.” We recommend that you take a look at the sizing chart provided by Speed and Strength to find the jacket that would fit you the best:

Size Small Medium Large XL 2XL 3XL
Chest 38-40 40-42 42-44 46-48 50-52 54-56
Sleeve 33 34 35 1/2 36 1/2 37 37 1/2

We checked out the sizing of these jackets in our office and find the chart above to be reasonably accurate. This style is relatively “relaxed” with a fit sort of like a jean jacket (not as tapered as sport style jackets).

Our Two Cents

The Call To Arms Textile Jacket from Speed and Strength combines casual styling and Knox CE approved armor for protection. We used one of the grey jackets in our office to photograph the features for you (take the “View Larger Pictures” link to view those). The overall feel of the jacket is that of a well broken-in canvas army style jacket. The material used is definitely cotton based and it is very soft and comfortable. Also the overall style is a bit longer than a standard sport jacket but not as tapered. There are plenty of storage pockets which will be handy for touring or commuting. The edges of the pockets look puckered or wrinkled (which is part of the styling), but actually there are memory wires built into the seams of those pockets to make them shaped that way which is sort of a unique feature. The jacket has front zippered vents; two built into the shoulder epaulets and two bicep vents. The cotton shell should breathe well, so along with the vents, the jacket should be reasonably comfortable in warmer weather. When it gets cooler, you can use the removable thermal liner. This jacket comes with standard CE-type armor in the shoulders and elbows and has a removable back pad installed in a pocket in the lining. I think this represents a very nice alternative to standard sport or 3/4 length nylon riding jackets. If this style appeals, then go for it.
