Sizing Information

We tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and both fit great. The jackets are roomy. My primary advice would be to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you are between sizes I’d advise you to go down.

The chart provided by Speed and Strength shows chest sizes for each alpha size that are a bit larger than what you’d normally see for “standard” conversion from chest size to alpha size. Based on my observations (above), the chart seems just about right.

Size Small Medium Large XL 2XL 3XL
Chest 38-40 40-42 42-45 46-48 49-52 53-56
Sleeve 33 34 35 1/2 36 1/2 37 37 1/2

Our Two Cents

This jacket is for fans of Rickey Gadson (AMA drag champion). Well, I guess you don’t HAVE to be a fan… maybe you can just like the overall look, but you should probably at least read his website to know whose style you are emulating, right? Anyway, the style is the over-riding draw here. The jacket’s shell is a pinstripe look (either black or green). Right on Ricky’s web page you can see the signature design this jacket is going for. The jacket is a simple textile style. It has Knox armor in the shoulders and elbows and a foam back pad. The climate control consists mostly of zip vents…. two in the front sleeve area and two large vents in the rear. This jacket will work in mild or cool weather with some under-layment (provided by you since the jacket doesn’t come with a thermal liner), and you can also be comfortable in warm weather using the vents. For either hot summer weather or cold weather, you’ll have to don some non-Ricky-fan apparel. The overall fit is relaxed. If you take the “View Larger Images” link above, you’ll be able to see how the jacket fits. Like I mentioned above, it tends toward large. We put the usual Med and XL sizes on Huey and Dewey and got a “relaxed” fit. Oh, and while you are looking at the pics, check out the shot of the lining which includes a big Gadson patch. :: Paul, 11-12-12
