Sizing Information

This jacket is sold in alpha sizes so most people can choose the size they normally wear in men’s clothing. You can also go here for a conversion chart to see chest size conversions for each alpha size. If you measure yourself, we recommend you measure your chest AND belly to make sure you are selecting a jacket big enough to accommodate both. The belly size in this jacket will be about 6” less than the chest size. For example, an XL jacket will accommodate a 46” chest and will have a max belly of about 40”.

Our Two Cents

This jacket probably has the best climate control out of the Fieldsheer lineup. Nice large zippered vents run along the front and rear of the torso, and there are additional vents on the biceps as well. This jacket does have a built in Rainguard® liner (100% waterproof, but breathable according to Fieldsheer), which will take away some of the effectiveness of the vents, but gives you the advantage of having a waterproof jacket should a shower sneak up on you. When the weather turns cooler, the Super Sport 2.0 includes a fully sleeved quilted liner to keep you warm, as well as a rather unique feature: a removable hoody. The hoody zips in at the back of the neck and should really help to keep the head and neck warm. The hoody is pretty standard cotton material like you’d find on almost any sweat shirt. It is thin enough that it should comfortably fit under most helmets, but if you are unsure or concerned about it, I’d suggest you try your helmet on over a sweat top hoody you have in your own closet and see how it works. The hoody attaches to the jacket with a zipper, so it can be removed. Like any sweat top, there is a drawcord for a snug fit as well. Stretch panels are built in behind the elbows and shoulders, and along the sides of the torso, and stretch Cordura® material is used along the underarms. The waist is also Velcro adjustable so this jacket should give pretty good freedom of movement and comfort for longer rides. While this jacket also has the Phoslite® reflective piping, it only runs across the back of the shoulders, so you won’t get any reflectivity towards the front. There is C.E. approved armor in the shoulders and elbows along with the SP Memory Foam® back pad for protection. Take a look at our feature pictures of this jacket by taking the link above.

The Fieldsheer jacket is my first and favorite one. It has decent climate control, making it comfortable in all but the coldest and hottest weather. The HJC helmet is a great budget helmet, offering a ton of nice features at a low price. (Read more...)
