Our Two Cents

The Latigo RR (road race) gloves from Cortech complement their line of value priced leather suits, jackets, pants and boots for the occasional track rider or the street rider who requires a high level of protection and quality but also appreciate staying within their budget when purchasing gear. I just tried on a pair of these gloves and I found them to be very comfortable. Perforated leather will help keep your hands cool and the soft fleece lining wicks moisture for a more comfortable ride. I like the way the gloves are cut in the palm area and fingers. They are very “pre-curved” which means you will have very good feel for the controls without material bunched up in your palm. The basic protection features are here: TPU molded polyurethane knuckle and finger protectors; a second layer of leather in the palm and thumb with a Kevlar interlining; and a padded gauntlet. I’d characterize the overall protection as very adequate for street riders, but sort of “light duty” for a racer. Once again, these are “entry level” or “value priced” products so keep them in perspective when comparing to full-on race gloves (such as Alpinestars or Held) which are much more expensive.
