Sizing Information

Like most Alpinestars gloves, these gloves ran a bit smaller than most glove brands we carry. With the Gore Tex liner and insulation, the gloves run small enough for us to recommend you buy one size larger than you normally by in gloves (non-Alpinestars gloves that is). If you are sometimes between sizes, then choose the larger of the two. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Our Two Cents

Are you a believer in the virtues of genuine Gore-Tex? Well, here is a very nice all-leather winter glove for you! The WR-3 Gore-Tex gloves fall mid-range in the wide variety of winter gloves by Alpinestars. The Gore-Tex liner of course is there to keep water out of the glove while allowing your hands to breathe and dissipate moisture from your skin. This miracle property of Gore-Tex can make all the difference in your comfort wearing a glove like this. These gloves have a medium weight insulation in addition to the Gore-Tex and the inside fleecy liner. The combination makes for a medium thickness that will keep you warm, but also allow for reasonable feel for your controls. We found great reflective panels on the glove when we did our night shot test (view by taking the “View Larger Images” link above). Also, you can see the use of extra leather reinforcements in the palm and heel of the hand and also up the side of the pinkie. And this glove has the leather “bridge” connection between the little finger and the ring finger. The bridge helps protect the little finger in case of a fall by “splinting” it to the ring finger. The back of the hand features molded plastic knuckle protection which is covered in perforated leather which gives it a subdued look but sort of sporty too. The gloves have a Velcro-close wrist strap to secure the gloves on your hand in case of a fall and there is also a large Velcro close cuff adjuster so you can make the gloves fit properly over the sleeve of your jacket. One last thing to mention is the little pointed rubber piece on the end of each pointer finger. It is a “stylus” to be used with a bike’s navigation system or other controls. Sorry, but it doesn’t operate a touch screen phone. :: Paul, 10-24-12
