Alpinestars Vector Jacket

This product is sold in European sizes. You can choose a European size based upon your US chest size using Alpinestars’ sizing chart. And for those who may have a bit of a belly, we encourage you to consider our estimated max belly sizes listed below. Choose a jacket size that will accommodate both your chest and your belly. Keep in mind that this is a highly fitted jacket, so choosing a size based upon these recommendations will result in a snug fit which should be comfortable while sitting/riding, but may be restrictive while standing and walking. Those who don’t like a snug fit should either consider another style or buy one size larger than recommended.

The Vector Perforated Leather jacket is a great sport/race style jacket with several high quality features. With the extreme sport fit and race quality protection, it is basically the top half of a quality race suit. It’s made of a heavy-duty leather which offers excellent abrasion protection, and the armor in this jacket is very substantial. The elbow armor is a CE approved “GP” style (hard plastic over impact foam style) and is secured to the jacket with Velcro right to the leather shell so it is somewhat adjustable and securely held in place. The armor for the shoulders consists of an external molded piece (which you can see in the pictures). This jacket also includes some comfortable foam armor pieces in the chest area (optional Bionic chest pads available as upgrade). For back protection, the jacket comes with a foam pad, but this can be upgraded to a CE approved RC back protector (take the link below). Like some race suits, this jacket has the race hump in back. The hump is aerodynamic, but also provides a bridge between your shoulders and the back of your helmet in case of a fall. The hump would help keep your head from being wrenched forward by your helmet if you landed on your back and shoulders. One note about the back protector and the hump: if you choose to put the optional back protector in the jacket or otherwise wear a more substantial back protector under the jacket, you will want to buy one size larger than you’d otherwise buy because the combination of a thicker back protector and the hump takes up a LOT of room and this jacket is a tight fit already. Other features: for convenience, this jacket has two zippered front pockets and an additional interior pocket. This jacket will be best suited for cool to warm weather. The perforated leather and additional venting in the shoulders will provide some welcome airflow on warmer days. On the colder rides the thermal vest liner will cut down on airflow and help to preserve body heat. The jacket comes with a full circumference zipper for attachment to Alpinestars pants. When zipped to one of Alpinestars leather sport pants, you’d essentially have a great 2pc track suit.
